We provide surveys, assessment and modeling services including-
•
Ecological habitat & protected species
•
Geomorphology surveys, modeling & impact assessment
•
Eletro fish surveys, fish habitat mapping & quality assessment
•
River & water quality monitoring & testing
•
Water Framework Directive (WFD) impact assessments
•
EIA screening & full assessment
•
Integrating the findings into designs, abstraction limits & working methods

•
River & rainfall gaugeing
•
Flow estimation using Low Flows, catchment re-scaling & gaugeing dater
•
Producing hydrographs & flow duration curves
•
Flow analysis & modeling effects of abstraction & changes to wetting
•
Sediment movement & flow dynamics modeling
•
Flood risk assessment including sequential test & modeling flood levels
Bluengineering can handle all aspects of water permitting including-
•
Surface & ground water abstraction licences
•
Consents for drainage, effluent & fowl water disgharge
•
Impoundment licence for weirs, ponds & irrigation reservoirs
•
Permits to build structures & work in or adjacent to rivers
•
Fish pass national panel permits
•
Planning applications for related structures & buildings
We design in river and bank side structures to carry out specialist functions and
use novel approaches to overcome environmental and engineering constraints.
Examples include-
•
Weir-less fish friendly drop intakes for high gravel or mixed bedload rivers
•
Coanda intake weirs
•
Small scale privet bridges, fords and culverts
•
Discharge outfalls to prevent erosion & avoid attracting fish
•
Bank & bed reinforcement

Our sister company Bluenergy provides a comprehensive range of hydro
power services which includes initial feasibility study, full environmental
assessment and permitting, detailed engineering design and financial forecast.
However unlike many, we provide a fully integrated service and manage the
purchasing and installation of the scheme and undertake the technical
construction work ourselves, whilst allowing more cost-effective local contractors
to undertake general work. We also provide annual servicing including water
licence returns.
